Support
Email contact@storms.report. For the iPhone app, include the version from Settings, the place or storm, and what you expected to see.
storms.report is not a warning system. In an emergency, follow your local officials, Wireless Emergency Alerts on your phone, and NOAA Weather Radio.
I am not getting notifications
- Open the place in the app and check that Notifications is on, and which alerts it sends.
- In the iPhone Settings app, under Notifications, then Storms, check that notifications are allowed, and that Time Sensitive Notifications are on. Warnings are sent as Time Sensitive.
- A Focus can silence the app. Add Storms to the Focus's allowed apps.
- Quiet hours hold back watches, advisories and statements until they end. They never hold back a warning, an emergency, or an extreme or immediate alert.
- A notification is sent when the National Weather Service issues a new alert for the place. Alerts already in effect when you save a place are shown in the app, not sent.
Following a storm
On a storm's screen, tap Follow. Each new advisory from the National Hurricane Center is sent as a notification and updates a Live Activity on the Lock Screen. If the Live Activity does not appear, check that Live Activities are on for Storms in the iPhone Settings app.
“May be out of date”
We could not confirm that the source is live, so we do not say there are no alerts. Check weather.gov or nhc.noaa.gov directly.
Widgets and Apple Watch
The widget and the watch show what the iPhone app last loaded; they do not check on their own. Open the app to update them.
Your data
Removing a place, or turning its notifications off, deletes it from our server. The privacy policy lists everything we keep and why.
