About
storms.report shows official US weather warnings and storm information in one place, quickly and clearly. It does not forecast. Everything here comes from these National Weather Service offices:
- National Weather Service: alerts: warnings, watches and advisories
- National Hurricane Center and Central Pacific Hurricane Center: storm positions, forecast cones, advisories, and where storms could form
- Storm Prediction Center: severe weather outlooks, mesoscale discussions and storm reports
- Weather Prediction Center: flash flood risk and rainfall forecasts
- National Water Prediction Service: river gauges and flood stages
How it works
We check for new alerts every minute, and for storms, outlooks and river levels every few minutes. Official text is shown exactly as issued, with the time it was issued and a link to the original. If we cannot reach a source, the page says so instead of showing old information as current.
In an emergency
Follow your local officials, Wireless Emergency Alerts on your phone, and NOAA Weather Radio. This site is a convenience, not a warning system.
Who runs it
Little Knife Labs, which also runs beach.report, lakes.report and snowpack.report. Questions or corrections: contact@storms.report. See also our privacy and terms pages.
